New American Airlines Blog Could Use Some Work

April 16, 2008 at 10:09 AM | by | Comment (1)

American Airlines has a new baby blog called "AA Conversation." While we have to congratulate the carrier on its attempt at transparency, the AA site is nowhere near as good as the blogs Southwest and Delta maintain.

There are only three posts so far, and one of them is completely useless. See if you can parse this corporate speak:

We have been getting several questions about industry consolidation, so we wanted to share American's current position. We generally don't comment on what role AMR might play, if any, in consolidation.

Uh, thanks for the clarification? Also, if you're gonna roll out a blog to spread news about thousands of flight cancellations, a link to the new site from AA.com might be a good idea.

This is terrible ...

... it looks like someone's nephew quickly set up a free blog for them.  Come on, this is a real company (isn't it?!) - what about a proper blog, spend a bit of money, get some graphics happening, link it to the actual AA site... this is the cheapest, most boring blog I've seen in a long time!
