Hotels Offering Discounts for Stranded Travelers

We're living in some crazy travel times these days. LCCs are going bankrupt left and right, and bigger airlines are getting grounded for FAA-implemented safety checks. And don't forget about other airline nightmares, like waiting on a tarmac for 8 hours. Just because you book a flight, there's a real chance that you won't get to your final destination in one shot.
Which is why some thoughtful hotels are helping to ease the travel pain (and, you know, send some cash their way as well.) These deals aren't the greatest in terms of flexibility and most of them are at Marriotts, but you may want to make note of these before you head out to catch your next plane.
One last tip: If you see something you like, we suggest calling the hotel and talking to a live human being to get the most out of these offerings.
· Harbor Beach Marriott Resort & Spa: This Ft. Lauderdale hotel has a 20 percent discount off a 50 or 80-minute aromatheraphy massage. The deal is good from now through May 31. Mention "Travel Ease" when booking. No proof of wayward travel itinerary needed.
· Doral Golf Resort & Spa: The Miami resort is also offering a 20 percent discount off spa treatments. The deal is good through June 1, but only on weekdays. Guest also need to show a copy of flight itinerary with travel dates of April 5 through April 18. Ditto goes for the Marco Island Marriott Beach Resort on Marco Island, Florida.
· The Walt Disney Swan and Dolphin Resorts: These Orlando destinations are offering 50 percent off on your next night stay. Valid now through April 30.
· Horseshoe Bay Resort: This Texas ranch resort is offering guests who were delayed at either Austin or San Antonio airports 25 percent off an extra night to extend their stay until April 30. Also you'll get 20 percent off golf, spa and marina services.
· CasaMagna Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort and Spa: If you're headed to Mexico this hotel is offering free internet (which it should be offering anyway), free access to the spa and a complimentary glass of house wine at the hotel’s restaurants. Valid until April 30.
· Westin Chicago River North: Offers a small concession. The hotel is offering a free link to every airline in their business center for guests to check status as well as print boarding passes.
