Film Festival Travel: Jonesing for Cannes

April 11, 2008 at 1:37 PM | 1 Comment

Although the world's most glamorous film festival is still a month away, we're totally jazzed about two bits of pre-Festival de Cannes news. The fourth Indiana Jones flick is set to premiere, and Russia is representin' at Cannes' International Village.

Yep, you heard it here first. Shia, Spielberg, Stoli and stroganoff all under one tent from May 14-25. Now that's a party.

We won't know the rest of the festival's program until April 23 when downloadable schedules, event details and jury selections will be released.

We can confirm that Russia will be toasting to 100 years of filmmaking at its new Cannes pavillion inside the International Village. The hope is to show international filmmakers why more movies should be filmed in Russia (aside from the obvious appeal of almost balmy Siberian winters).

And don't miss Cannes' first-ever Russian beach party honoring the 100th anniversary of "Stenka Razin," the nation's first film.

    Oh, Indy!

Too bad Professor Jones would never fit in in the south of France.
