Travel Snapshot: Internet Kiosks at LAX

HotelChatter editor Juliana just sent us over this travel snapshot, live from the Southwest terminal at LAX. While the general WiFi access is $10 for a day pass on T-Mobile, these things are even more overpriced.

Juliana attached this message with her photo:

Takes credit cards: Visa, MC and Amex. Charges $.25 per minute. Also takes cash but $1 minimum. How come the Southwest terminal in McCarran in Las Vegas has free WiFi but not here?

An excellent question. Perhaps an even better question: Why would anyone pay this much to get online?!

Send in your snaps, or drop 'em in our Flickr pool.

But (none / 0)

isn't that what dial-up used to cost if you went over your limit?

dial-up days (none / 0)

seem so long ago, i can't remember what i paid for that. but i will never forget the screech of connecting.

anyways, after i snapped this shot, some couple came over and started asking me how it worked. they wanted to connect their laptop so i got up and let them. they were trying to make some last-minute flight changes so i guess it's good in emergencies like that.
