Bird's Nest In Your Soul: China Clamps Down on Olympic Stadium Photographs
Hey, there's no scenic overlook here! Frustrated by drivers pulling over on a major highway to take pictures of the new Olympic stadium and aquatic center, the Beijing police are stepping up their efforts to catch drivers clogging up this overpass.
The highway's pedestrian bridge, with the same views of the Bird's Nest and the Water Cube (as they are colloquially known), is still fair game for photos, but those who drive up there will be ticketed and fined, according to Reuters.
Looking at these photos--for which we cannot attest that city rules were followed--it's easy to see why motorists are so tempted to snap the new buildings. How about a regular photographer's bus, city officials?
