Le Blue Line Keeps Santa For Themselves

December 23, 2008 at 9:00 AM | by | Comments (6)

Ho ho no! Blue 1--a Finnish budget airline affiliated to SAS Airlines and not to be confused with Romania's Blue Air French-based Blue Line--has made a bunch of British kids really blue this Christmas.

The airline should have carried 160 people in two small planes from Manchester to Santa's home in Finnish Lapland early on Saturday morning, but the passengers were then told there'd be a delay while Blue found a new aircraft. The bigger one they got was then deemed too big to land at Finland's Enontekio airport in bad weather and the whole trip was canceled.

Police had to be called to calm down the screaming children, and angry parents had to explain to their kids that they hadn't been good enough to meet Santa this year after all.

Wrong again!

Hi jaunted, Please get your facts right for once, when it involves the UK.. it wasn't the airline Blue 1, it was an airline called BlueLine which is a completely different airline as they only do special arranged charter flights, and blue 1 don't fly from manchester.

forgot to add

blue line are french based.

you're right

thanks for pointing that out. we just updated. but i think airlines should stop using the word "blue" in their company names. so far we have:
· JetBLUE
· BLUE line
· BLUE 1
· BLUE Air.

it's silly. any other blue airline names?

one more

Can't forget

Neeleman's new Azul.

there is also

Blue Islands - small uk based airline. this young welshman thinks they include the word "Blue" in their names due to the blue sky, and I know what you're thinking "Wow, this guy must have a science degree"
