THE RACE:
Teams make their way to Deshbandhu Apartments where they will search for a park in the center of the complex for their next clue. Nick and Starr are in first place and confide that they like telling little white lies in order to maintain their lead. Kelly and Christy are right behind them and are back to behaving like 12 year olds. They play the “Who Would You Make Out With” game, in reference to Andrew and Dan. Come on, girls! Seriously?!
ROADBLOCK:
When the teams reach the apartment complex, they receive their next clue, and the Roadblock for this leg of the race. Team members must participate in a traditional Indian celebration called "The Holi Festival," in which they will be pelted with powdered dye in every imaginable color while having water sprayed or dumped on them. After running the gauntlet, team members must climb a ladder and search for a specially marked envelope among hundreds of others marked "Try Again."
Starr makes a beeline for the envelopes and is barely dusted by the time she grabs the envelope and returns with the clue. Nick isn't as lucky. Running to the taxi, he gets a face full of fuchsia dye. Lucky for him, he looks great in hot pink. Dallas is next and returns victorious and purple. Kelly ends up running laps around and through the battle zone instead of going up the ladder and grabbing the clue. She wastes a ton of time bitching about the challenge and how she can't do it. Once she finally manages to go up the ladder, she grabs the wrong envelope. Four times! Read the clues, ladies! They get lapped by Terence, who finishes quickly, but declares this the hardest thing he's ever done. Ken zips through the challenge and Tina gets absolutely covered in bright green dye, and she's the only one who ends up looking halfway decent by the end.
Next, the racers head to Old Delhi to find the Charity Birds Hospital. Once there, teams must search through rows of bird cages to find the hidden clue. All the teams manage to complete this quickly with the exception of Terence and Sarah--who actually go into one of the cages and search in and under the food pan. Good luck with that nice case of Sars you just contracted!
SPEED BUMP:
Ken and Tina must go to a Sikh temple and serve holy water to all of the worshipers. The task takes time, but is not particularly difficult. The biggest challenge is the congested streets, and both of them get out of their taxi to help direct traffic.
DETOUR:
In Bleary Eyed, teams must follow a designated power line through the crowded streets, writing down numbered tags in the correct order before turning in their list. If the sequence is correct, teams receive their next clue. If not, they must start over. In Teary Eyed, teams must head to a spice market where they will each carry a forty pound bag of dried chilies a quarter of a mile where they will grind it into chili powder.
Nick and Star work with Toni and Dallas to complete Bleary Eyed. Together, they manage to finish the task quickly. Kelly and Christy and Andrew and Dan get bogged down counting the wrong numbered signs several times over, while Ken and Tina show up having completed their Speed Bump. Andrew and Dan offer to team up with Kelly and Christy, but are denied. Luckily, Ken and Tina are feeling selfless, and show the guys which numbers they need to be counting. Terence and Sarah were the only team to do Teary Eyed, and manage to grind up enough chilies to ignite a volcano. Of course, Terence is kvetching about everything the entire time. We're sure this is yet another thing that is the most difficult thing he's ever done. Ever.
THE PIT STOP:
Humayun's Tomb serves as this week's pit stop. Nick and Starr land in first place and win a five night vacation to Kauai. Dallas and Toni take second place with Terence and Sarah landing in third. Surprisingly, Ken and Tina stage a huge comeback and finish in forth place. It's an incredible gain, especially considering the Speed Bump.
OUSTED:
Time's up, ladies! Kelly and Christy finish last and are eliminated. It's the same old broken record: Tears are shed and ex-husbands are vilified. At least they have each other.
NEXT WEEK:
Andrew and Dan get crazy snarky with each other, and the remaining teams compete to reach the coveted Fast Forward. Only five teams remain. Who will be the next to go?
