A recent trip report from a user on Airliners.net gives an update on Virgin's upper class product:
The UC [Upper Class] cabin on this aircraft had 14 seats together with a small bar area. It felt very private and exclusive...legroom was amazing. The food was OK, better than economy, but definitely not fine dining. The service however was first class and I cannot find fault with Virgin's Manchester based crew.
TripAdvisor users have been comparing Branson's baby to British Airways on service to Orlando--and Virgin comes out on top:
I have flown with both and had good experiences with both, however I would choose to fly Virgin over BA. I would choose to fly Virgin over anyone else to America.
But David Karp of the Limeduck blog didn’t have the ideal experience on his recent trip, but it was more about his seatmates than the airline:
Somewhere along the line of the checking in process, my window seat got moved ten rows back and a few seats over to an aisle seat in the center section where the plane tapers toward the back.
The flight was completely full and the flight attendant was sympathetic to my plea for relocation but also powerless. So I can’t really blame the airline for the situation.
