Killer Concert or Pathetic Promo? Jury Still Out

October 10, 2008 at 10:30 AM | by | Comments (0)

We're of two minds about this weekend's Diesel xXx Party. We usually don't like to report on promotional concerts that are way unnecessarily overhyped, as in this promo text:

To get this 24 hour global xXx party started we've recruited the hottest most superlative expending line-up on planet earth and sent them deep into a super-futuristic Hyper-Space themed venue for a party that's going to last 12 hours straight.

On the other hand, the concert, which takes place this Saturday, October 11, delivers the goods as far as the artists goes, with Bonde do Role in Tokyo, Bloc Party DJing in Paris and Mark Ronson in London, along with bands in 14 other cities. The big, close-out concert is Saturday night in New York, with M.I.A., N.E.R.D. and Hot Chip at a "secret location" on the Brooklyn waterfront.

The catch? You've got to visit your local Diesel store to find out how to get tickets. Damn. Clearly, we're too lazy for that, but if anyone goes, let us know what the deal is!
