Where Phillies Fans Will Party Tonight

October 27, 2008 at 4:35 PM | by pbb | 2 Comments

The deck is stacked against the Tampa Bay Rays, and the Philadelphia Phillies could win their second World Series tonight in front of a home crowd at Citizens Bank Park. If they do, you can bet rabid fans will take over the streets of South Philly--and the city's bars.

Top of the list for post-game partying is McGillin's Old Ale House, the city's oldest pub. Other venues worth checking out are Chickie's & Pete's (book ahead here) and McFadden's. The Philadelphia tourism board has even more ideas.

The city's tourism people also promise to update www.gophila.com/phillies with presumably-not-riot-y celebration info after--and if--the Phils win tonight.

Bah! A little rain can't dampen our spirits here in Philadelphia. People will be hootin' and hollerin' and cheering and honking all night when there is a win... whenever that comes. (KNOCK WOOD.) We are so excited! And stop it with your riot talk: there are great Phillies fans out there a la http://www.the700level.com/2008/10/phillies-parade.html

    I was at...

Maxi's right in Temple University's campus and it wan't THAT crazy last night, but it could have. Every time PHILLIES scored a home run, shots for everyone (to those waving their "towels"). The funniest part was being with a whole bunch of Latinos...we were a roudy bunch :)
