Blame Ryanair for the Most Annoying Song of 2008

October 21, 2008 at 1:35 PM | by | Comment (1)

Seriously, Europe, WTF. One listen to this ridiculous track, which grew out of a tune played on some Ryanair flights, and we can't get it out of our heads. It's not that we enjoy it; it's that it was probably strategically developed to stick in there until we buy some super-cheap tickets.

We've just gotten over Axel F, the last absurd, animated, became-a-ringtone-hit track from the Continent. We probably won't forget this one until Ryanair starts selling transatlantic seats for $20.

Ugh

I feel like Aqua (the band that recorded 'Barbie Girl') is going to see this and think: "those guys really went over the top." I mean, these seems like a cartoon by Robert Smigel. Can someone explain the "DO-DOO" sequence to me?
