Apothecary: The Trendiest Cocktail Bar Name on Earth

The word "mixologist" has been around long enough now that even people who say it with a straight face are starting to think it's a little much. (We suggest bringing back "bartender.") But that doesn't mean haughty cocktail lounges are going out of style!

In fact, drinks are getting so complicated that Apothecary is the hottest new bar name, recalling the earliest days of the cocktail when barflies would excuse their excessive boozing by claiming the bitters and tinctures in their brandy worked medical wonders.

    I had been noticing this myself - how bizarre! I support dropping this dumb mixologist term.

    apparently the drink mixing at Philly's is cool, and i love their logo. AND they have a roof deck. But: I have never been there (yet).
