Adventures of Link: A Tale of Two Stadiums

October 20, 2008 at 5:30 PM | by | Comments (2)

The 2008 World Series starts on October 22, with the Rays hosting Game 1 at Tropicana Field (inset) in Tampa Bay. The Philadelphia Phillies will have home field advantage beginning on October 25, when Game 3 starts at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia.

If we were to handicap the series solely by the stadium, Philly is clearly the victor with its newer ballpark that's so trendy it's stacked with local food options. It's also an outdoor stadium, unlike the dome in Tampa. Then again, Tropicana Field has a built-in cigar bar which no doubt appeals to the fat cats who can actually afford World Series tickets.

yes

I concur. The ballpark -- and the team -- here in Philly is superior! :)

agreed

When I found out Tropicana Field was not an "open stadium", I was like, "What's the point?"
