Important Issues Travel: Which Candidate Would You Vacation With?

We don't normally run surveys from travel companies because, well, would it really surprise you that some booking website has discovered that people love buying plane tickets? Still, we can't ignore the results of an awesome telephone survey, just released by Travelzoo:

A full third of Americans (33 percent) would choose to go on vacation with vice-presidential Republican candidate Sarah Palin.

Although Democrat Barack Obama placed first overall with 35 percent of the vacation-partner vote, VP hopeful Palin was just two points behind the presidential candidate....

More surprisingly, Palin was three times as popular as John McCain with Republicans--60 percent of right-wingers polled voted for her, with only 22 percent for him. Maybe that's why she referred to it as "the Palin and McCain administration"!

On the blue side of the aisle, Democrats were just as likely to choose Palin as their own vice-presidential candidate, Joe Biden (both had 12 percent). Say it ain't so, Joe!

Travelzoo also polled partisans on preferred destinations. While 51 percent of GOPers would consider taking an Alaskan cruise, only 37 percent of Dems have it on their travel wish list. Are they scared of bumping into delegates yelling, "Drill, baby, drill?"

McCain=Money

I'd choose McCain.

He's loaded (thanks to his dear wife), so money would be no object. Easy decision.

Barack has family in Hawaii

I bet he knows where all the good stuff is there.
