Chasing Michigan: Christina Ricci is a Faire Maiden

October 3, 2008 at 10:00 AM | by cmb | 0 Comments

Lights, Camera... Michigan? That's right, thanks to a new incentives program from the Michigan Film Office, the state is experiencing a boom in filming with more than 60 movies on the shooting schedule for this year alone, up from just three last year. Looks like Michigan might just be Hollywood Midwest.

Of course big movies mean big stars. Recent celeb sightings have included Drew Barrymore, who was filming her directorial debut, "Whip It!" in Flint and Clint Eastwood who just wrapped "Gran Torino" in Detroit.

Last week, "All's Faire in Love" began filming at the Michigan Renaissance Festival in Holly. The film is a romantic comedy, starring Christina Ricci, about a theater troupe whose sweet gig at Ye Olde Times Renaissance Faire is threatened by a rival troupe. Christina, dear maiden, prey tell how thy agent convinced thee to take thy role?

The producers of "All's Faire" will be looking for extras on Saturday so if you want a chance to be in the movie, break out that bodice and head down to the Ren Fest. This is also your last chance to try to get away with calling your girlfriend a wench while walking around carrying a ginormous turkey leg; the fest closes for the season on Sunday.

For those of you in Michigan, please help us keep track of all the local sightings and filming locations we should know about by sending them over to us at tips@jaunted.com.
