Dancing Waiters Travel: India's the Place

January 7, 2008 at 5:01 PM | 4 Comments

There is nothing better than the terrified tourist family in this video. The daughter is just stuffing her face with food, the father is trying to pretend nothing is happening and the older son just looks so bored. Come to think of it, that does sound like your everyday family trip.

We have so many questions here. Why are Pizza Huts in India full of dancing waiters? Is there an extra entertainment fee? And why would you eat at a Pizza Hut if you were on vacation in India?!

    Terrified Tourist Family

I am not trying to look like nothing is going on..
My daughter is not 'stuffing her face'...
The elder is son is not bored and not even my son...

I AM trying to stuff my face..  my daughter is suppressing hysterics, and sam is hoping he ain't going to get clouted over the head with a waiter's wayward arm.  All the while my wife is filming..

And, after 3 weeks of touring northwest India, using buses and trains, eating locally and enjoying the sights, smells and delights of the region I thought I would treat the kids to a spot of western food, air conditioning and all you can drink coke.  The kids and me deserved it!

Far from being the 'terrified family'  we are experienced travellers - having, as a two family group, toured: Zimbabwe, Peru, Eygpt, Thailand, Mexico, Belize, Guatemala and the area around Goa (living in a shack on the beach to boot).  We've skied in Bulgaria and Italy, parascended in Tunisia and dived in the south china seas.

We have never been robbed or met any trouble (only kindness and fun)... and we most certainly haven't lost any of the kids (although one of them almost fell off the roof of a tuk tuk while racing through Bangkok).

    enjoy
