Project Runway Map: Hershey's Times Square is 'Deliciously Chic'

After far too long, Project Runway finally returned on Wednesday. Yay! This time Tim Gunn woke up the designers at 6 am and corralled them into Times Square. The challenge? To gather whatever they could out of the Hershey's Times Square mega-store on 48th and Broadway and design a wearable and fanciful outfit.

Normally, we don't understand these candy warehouses. Dylan's Candy Bar is cute but we're not really sure we would buy anything there to eat, and the M&M store is just too bewildering. But inside the Hershey's store where there are tons of our two favorite candies ever, Hershey Bars and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, well we would turn into a greedy Violet Beauregarde, but substitute the gum-chomping for some chocolate face-stuffing.

The Hershey's Store opened in 2002 and boasts some serious hardware:

Outside, the 215-foot-tall, 60-foot-wide store facade is the largest permanent fixture ever constructed in Times Square. [It features] 34 dimensional props, four steam machines, over 4,000 chasing lights, 30 programmable lights, 56 neon letters, 14 front-lit signs and every major signage technique used today.

Another cool fact? On the Hershey's Times Square website, you can type in a message on the front page which will later be scrolled across the zipper reader board--most likely after some editing for content.

Anyway, on with the challenge. The designers grab as much of these "unconventional materials" as they can from candy to those silly stuffed pillows and hauled them back to Parsons to begin their work.

Jillian was the only one to use all edible product for her clothes, which Chris and other designers say is a big no-no, simply because it's too difficult to work with. In the end, the judges--including special guest judge designer Zac Posen--praised her red-twizzler dress. Michael Kors called it "deliciously chic."

However, despite her hard efforts, Rami beat her out with his well-tailored futuristic dress made from what seemed like everything vinyl sold inside the store.

Should you get a chocolate craving while visiting NYC, the Hershey's store is open seven days a week from 10 am to midnight.

    Worst dress?

Got to be Christian's. He had immunity so of course he was allowed to make the worst, but... peanut butter cup wrappers? Way worse than Elisa's stuffed Gretl creation.

I didn't understand why Sweet P. had to ditch her first creation anyway, but I liked that one better.
