While JetBlue starts up the publicity machine for its new Terminal 5 at JFK, British Airways is hyping a T5 of its own, letting the Associated Press take a look under the hood of the $8.4 billion building. The initial reaction is pretty good, but obviously it's not hard to beat the current setup at Heathrow, as a BA official admits:
Each year, surveys of frequent flyers around the world praise BA and criticize Heathrow for its delays, poor baggage handling and crowded terminals.
We're not sure that building a ginormous terminal is the solution to limiting luggage loss, but you certainly won't have any trouble buying stuff to replace what doesn't come out on the baggage claim belt. T5 is slated to have 112 stores, including a Prada, a Tiffany's, a Harrods and a Paul Smith.
