Not just frontin'...

Richard Branson talks a lot about going green and has even put up a prize for anyone who can figure out how to strip CO2 outta the atmosphere. But he still oversees a huge fleet of fossil fuel-burning airplanes. So what's he gonna do to quiet critics? Launch the world's first biofueled 747.

Sometime next month, a test flight (that means no passengers) will go from Heathrow to Amsterdam powered by what Virgin Atlantic says is a "very sustainable" fuel. While the new stuff is more environmentally friendly, it still uses a good amount of kerosene.

Air New Zealand also hopes to start biofuel flights soon-ish. Maybe this test run will motivate them to get those green(er) aircraft aloft sooner than 2009.
