For a Good Time, Call Seattle's SLUT

September 19, 2007 at 11:15 AM | by | Comment (1)

To make the most out of your trip to Seattle, you have to ride the SLUT. Yeah, you know what we're talking about: the South Lake Union Trolley.

OK, so officially it's the South Lake Union Streetcar. But where's the fun in that? The company that developed the trolleys--Paul Allen's Vulcan--says the racy name was never official, but that isn't stopping the fun. We definitely have a love-hate relationship with public transportation, so we're up for anything that makes it better. And locals like Jerry Johnson are excited too, after enduring construction for months:

We're welcoming the SLUT into the neighborhood...We can't wait.

Jerry works at a neighborhood coffee shop where they've already sold hundreds of "Ride the S.L.U.T." t-shirts, so there are plenty of fans out there. The trolleys themselves will start running in December.

You can get the origianl shirts direct from the two dudes that came up with the idea at www.ridetheslut.com or if you're in Seattle go to Kapow! Coffee 1165 Harrison St Seattle Wa 98109 206 447 5587. tTese guys are hilarious and very witty. I just got my shirt from them and it's great! Now of course every uncreative person with a beefy T and a sharpie is ripping them off but you can get the original shirt at ww.ridetheslut.com or at Kapow! Coffee. The knock offs have no idea what's going on in the Cascade neighborhood or what the true backstory is behind these shirts. Ge the original Ride the South lake Union Trolley shirts. And  Ride the SLUT
