Bring on the Beer, Oktoberfest's Here!

September is here again and as we know that makes it time for Oktoberfest, the great German beer drinking festival--as if they needed an excuse! The official Oktoberfest in Munich kicks off this Saturday, September 22, when Munich's mayor will tap into the first keg. Beer will be drunk and songs will be sung right through until October 7.

But if you really want to plan ahead, think now about the 2010 Oktoberfest. That'll be a big one, since it's the 200th anniversary of the celebration. While most hotels in Munich aren't taking bookings yet, the steady stream of beer-lovers making inquiries might change their policies yet. Prost!

    2010 Oktoberfest

    For years I have been planning to go to Germany when I graduated and by a stroke of luck it is in 2010. I hope hotels aren't booked to fast because I'm sure that the 200th anniversary is bound to be a blast!

    2010 Oktoberfest Reservations

    I have tried all the online booking engines like Expedia and such, contacted hotels directly and nobody would let me make a reservation or they told me they were already Sold Out...just as well though cause I found two company's selling packages that include beer tent reservations. One is Ludus Tours http://www.oktoberfesttours.com/index.html they are doing Oktoberfest and Oberammergau together. The one I booked with is Solstinox Travel http://www.oktoberfest.solstinoxtravel.com/ they are doing a bunch of three night tours, I went with week two. They also have listed a ton of different tour options; think I might go on the mountain bike tour along the river. Well if you want to book for Oktoberfest 2010 better do it early and I would use one of these two sites.
