Just as every state needs its Springfield, every hipster enclave sports at least one sushi joint tagged with the word wasabi. So even though Wasabi Bistro lacks a particularly ambitious moniker, it's got ambition in spades with with its menu. Expect to see traditional fresh favorites alongside plenty of bastard offspring, blending unsuspecting raw seafood with such gaijin ingredients as jalapeno, cilantro and blackberry mayo. For those frightened by uncharred offerings, a variety of surf and turf entrees are also available. As a bonus, happy hour happens twice a night (from 4-6pm and then from 11pm-1am).
After you've gotten juiced enough to try the shrimp head nigiri (only 50 cents!), its time to slide down the two blocks to the Ace Hotel. The decor? It's white. Very white. Whitewashed walls, original art, fresh flowers, all you need to be a new you on a clear bright morning in... Seattle. Well, at least your room will be clear and bright. A continental breakfast comes along free of charge, and at least one drawer in your room is equipped with a small pile of condoms. (We won't make the raincoats in Seattle joke here.)
