Tourist Trap: The Cheers Restaurant

In a city full of authentic, extant sites from important junctures in American history, people still flock to Boston's Cheers, the restaurant that inspired the hit series. Now, we're no strangers to TV travel, but let us be clear: This is not a real pub where everybody knows your name. Maybe it "inspired" the show, but the interiors for the comedy were shot in Hollywood, and bear no resemblance to this pub. Nor does Frasier hang out there.
We'll take you to a real pub like Grendel's Den, and we'll buy you three beers for the price of one Cheer-beer. If you really want to see the famed exterior of the "Cheers" pub, this video gives you all you need, including the famous theme song.
