Skip Skydiving: Fly From Heathrow

August 10, 2007 at 9:30 AM | 0 Comments

We're pretty sure nobody would say that getting in and out of airport is a relaxing experience these days, but a recent survey at London Heathrow shows that it's even worse than you'd expect.

A sample of ordinary passengers were fitted with heart rate and blood pressure monitors and the results showed extraordinarily high levels of stress during the departure process from Heathrow. Some passengers had heart rates four times higher than average, and doctors explained that the physiological stress levels were higher than F1 drivers or skydivers experience.

Perhaps it puts new meaning to the idea that it's the journey and not the destination that counts in travel. If you want some heart-pumping action, just go and stand in line at the airport.
