JetBlue and Simpsons Collide: Doh!

July 6, 2007 at 10:38 AM | by | Comments (0)

JetBlue has become the official airline of Springfield, the fictional setting of The Simpsons. JetBlue affiliated with the city to coincide with release of the feature-length movie featuring everyone's favorite yellow-faced citizens. JetBlue will be launching a Simpsons-themed plane, named "Woo-hoo JetBlue!," after Homer's enthusiastic outbursts. The airline will also give away stuff during a Simpsons sweepstakes.

Mr. Burns has already hacked into the website to teach the company how a real American business should be run.

Smithers entered my chambers this morning, toting wretched tales of congenial customer service and overly indulgent amenities on your JetBlue Airways. And for what... your precious passengers? Soon, the riff raff will demand 'fair treatment' from all corporate overlords, like myself. Well, not in my chemically prolonged life-time.

Careful. The jokester on the company's marketing team might get carried away soon.

Is this a blatant marketing ploy? Yes. Are we hoping they serve strawberry-frosted donuts and Duff's beer on the flight, on which we will undoubtedly buy tickets? Absolutely. Will the flight be on time? Doubt it.
