Your Railteam Will Help Across Europe

July 30, 2007 at 8:56 AM | by amandak | 0 Comments

In Europe, trains are desperately trying to wrench back all that business that the low cost carriers grabbed off them when they started offering flights across Europe for the price of a hamburger. Eurail's already been playing the punctuality card and now Western European countries have joined forces to woo travelers with the Railteam initiative.

Apart from having a friendly name, Railteam claims to offer you the fastest connections between major cities in Western Europe and all in a very "seamless" way. That is to say, they've got all the various national rail companies to cooperate, and you can buy a "Railteam journey" if your trip includes one of the high-speed trains.

We're not convinced of the effectiveness (yet) but we quite like the gimmicky graphic that gradually rolls out the destinations open to you, hour by hour of travel, from your chosen city.
