Virgin America Selling Tickets, August 8th Is Wheels Up
Virgin America is selling tickets today and 08.08.07 will be the day VA finally goes wheels up, flying from San Francisco to New York. Looks like our 07.07.07 prediction wasn't far off. Their web site has been down super slow for the past hour or so. Now we have seen Virgin America's technology headquarters first hand, and it is hard to imagine site traffic knocking 'em down already, with this being the Summer of Flight Delays, fliers must be banging on the servers in hot pursuit of alternatives to the current flight delay norm.
Advertised prices are: SFO to JFK for $139 each way, SFO to DC for $389 each way in first class, and SFO to LAX for $44 each way.
Anyway, August 8th is soon, and let's hope the server crash means Virgin America is going to have some excellent deals up and available on their site. Inauspicious start? We sure hope not -- throw some hardware at the problem we say.
Stay tuned.
