There probably isn't a Greek island left in the Mediterranean that would qualify for WTF. But the Japanese island of Shodoshima--the sister island of Milos--makes our map with ease. (Before you flame us: Shodoshima is the name of the island and a town on it.)
The spot is actually quite popular with Japanese visitors, but we'll go out on a limb and say most of our readers haven't heard of the Olive Island. That's right: Shodoshima--in addition to being an important Buddhist pilgrimage site with 88 temples--is also home to Japan's first olive farms.
You'll want to check 'em out while staying at Hotel Olivean. (This site's Japanese only, friends, but an expired site is still online.) After hiking the olive groves and scoping the temples, you'll want to take in the set of the '50s Golden Globe-winner Twenty-Four Eyes.
In the fall, another draw is the island's Taiko festivals. (That's a snap of them, above.) With kabuki plays and lots of traditional drumming, the island plays host to a number of traditional activities that celebrate the harvest season.
