Putin Bush Summit at Walker's Point: Agenda Suggestions

Speaking of Russia, Russian President Vladimir Putin is set to join President George Bush at the Walker's Point compound in Kennebunkport Maine this weekend for a little summer vacation.

The Bush-Putin summit is an attempt to strengthen relations between the U.S. and Russia, away from their normal entourages.

Sit down, no necktie, sit in a beautiful house overlooking the sea and talk frankly without a lot of strangers and note takers, people that have separate agendas handing you notes and all of that.

So says President Bush. Well, lucky for the President, we have some suggestions for Kennebunkport friendship encouraging activities.

Where To Beach Walk:

Kennebunkport Beach
Ok, if the presidential couple wants to walk on a real Maine beach they will need to head to Ogunquit, but something tells us that isn't on the summit agenda, so Kennebunkport Beach will have to do for that early morning private beach stroll. Luckily, Putin can check the beach cam before heading down to the shore, just in case the weather looks nasty.

What To Do:

Deep Sea Fishing
Bush says he wants a "no necktie" environment for this summit, and we are guessing that means plenty of fishin'. Lady J Sportfishing Charters should be able to hook him up. The Korbin Hardin, a 22 ft. custom center console built by local boat builders will impress Putin even if Bush doesn't pull in the biggest blue fish of the day.

Where to Stay:

The White Barn Inn
Rooms run around $349, maybe a bit more in the summer. This Inn is one of Southern Maine's most exclusive, and as and added bonus if your room smells like smoke, you might get a free upgrade. Ah, for all we know Putin smokes like a chimney. Anyway, he should feel at home in this Relais & Chateau property while President Bush can enjoy the fine American cuisine served here nightly. A romantic spot always helps budding friendships, does it not?
