· Get there early. Day game or night, you'll want to mill around gawking at overpriced souvenirs and rowdy fans. And you always need to build in some time when relying on the Subway's 4 train. Besides, if you're there before the first pitch, you can...
· Grab a beer. Not only are they (slightly) cheaper outside the park, they're ice cold. We'd suggest Stan's, but all the bars outside the stadium along River Avenue seem to be named Stan's. Then again, they're all about the same--heavy on the sticky floors and light beer. Take your pick!
· Have those tickets ready. We always like to have our tix in hand when we show up to the park--we get to skip the Will Call line. Team Jaunted happens to be a fan of the Tier Boxes seats, which strike the perfect balance between price and quality. (Bonus points for them being in the blazing summer sun!) Pack your SPF 15 or higher, kids.
· Make a clean getaway. After Scott Proctor and Mariano Rivera clean up the mess Clemens will have made, you'll want to make a quick exit back to Manhattan for post-game celebrations. Make sure you have your Metrocard before the end of the game. (Buy an extra or re-up if you need to when you get off the train on your way to Stan's.) For the most spacious ride back downtown, stand at the end of the platform--those cars are usually the least crowded.
And now, let the Yankee-bashing commence in the comments!
