Do people actually get paid to write about riding the virgin, chasing Jessica Alba around Vancouver, and reporting on airport wifi. Yes. Now it is not the kind of pay that is going to wipe out the deficit, but pay nonetheless. Getting paid to blog about travel is not an urban legend.
JOB OPENING DETAILS THIS WAY
SFO*MEDIA, the mysterious and geographically confused outfit that publishes HotelChatter and Jaunted, has the following openings:
·Jaunted Contributing Editor
We are looking for an editor who can contribute on a daily basis. You should have a travel jones, a pop culture sensibility, some understanding of Photoshop, a bit of HTML knowledge, and blogging skills are all expected.
·Jaunted Embedded Travel Guides
Whether you want to hand out some local travel know-how about your hometown, or are planning a fantastic voyage this summer, if you have an interest in writing about it in quick, scannable, easy to digest morsels--pitch us--you just might become a Jaunted Embedded Travel Guide.
·Videographer :: Special Projects
We are looking for a videographer with digital experience in LA or NY.
·Site Editor :: Super Not So Secret Stealth Project
SFO*MEDIA is launching a new travel site and looking for a lead editor. This is a great opportunity to get in and help shape the new site with voice and content from beta to launch. We are particularly interested in entertaining travel ombudsman types.
·HotelChatter Contributing Editor
We need a quick witted editor to assist with the daily publication of HotelChatter. This person will be responsible for a small number of daily posts, should grok hotels, entertainment, travel, and the web. If you blog, or have blogged, read blogs, and have something to say you might have the required skill set.
Interested in any of the above?
EMAIL US HERE
Don't bother sending us resumes, yet. Just send three travel blog entries (hint: use HotelChatter and Jaunted for voice ideas). Please put "SFO Openings" as the subject line. Oh, and if you have a blog please send along the URL.
