Victoria Beckham Parties At That Hot LA Club 'DMV'

May 23, 2007 at 8:56 AM | by egw | 2 Comments

There are some things money really can't buy, like good health, or being lucky enough to live in the age of cat macros. And when a celebrity needs to get a driver's license, she can't just get her handlers to do it for her -- as Victoria Beckham found out when she took her permit test at the Santa Monica DMV yesterday and was almost immediately pulled over while she practiced.

She didn't get a ticket, but the policeman puzzled over her London driver's license while the paparazzi swarmed. Do you need a special license in order to drive abroad? Depends on where you're going. If Mrs. Beckham had thought ahead, she could have qualified for an International Driving Permit, a 12-month pass which (along with a UK driver's license) makes you legal to drive anywhere in the world.

You can also get one with your U.S. license for the bargain-basement price of $15. Posh's resignation to getting a U.S. license indicates that she may stay here for a while -- or she is tired of being driven around.

Still, concentrating 75 percent of the time on the road may be enough for Britain, but Posh will have to step up her game and get that license soon -- unless she's having another baby.

    I don't buy this

I am pretty sure this was staged for Posh's reality show, Coming to America or whatever she is calling it. It's just too much of a coinkidink that she gets out of DMV and a 5-0 is waiting for her and her British license or whatever she has.
