Freddie Prinze Jr., Mena Suvari, and Alec Baldwin star in "Brooklyn Rules."
"The Sopranos" writers venture into film to tell a Brooklyn set tale of mobsters coming-of-age.
The movie was mainly shot in Brooklyn, though parts of it were shot in Queens, and big shock here, Toronto, which is constantly a big screen stand in for New York City.
Where To Stay:
Awesome B and B
Decent places to stay in Park Slope are few and far between, but Awesome does its best to live up to their name. This 1892 limestone Victorian four-story mansion offers frilly rooms in a clean, relatively quiet area.
Where To Eat:
Clinton Diner & Bar
Yes, it is in Queens, and yes it serves as the setting for scenes in the movie. This diner was also featured in Goodfellas, so it has proper mobster movie pedigree. 2 Eggs with homefries, toast and coffee for $2.08, according to one reviewer.
Where To Drink:
Barcade Brooklyn
No mobsters here, just hipsters. This bar is a Gen X throwback, featuring old-school stand up video games, that attracts a very Gen Y crowd. They have a MySpace page, and a Flickr page. A quick browse of both will show you how much drunken fun locals and those from away have at this place.
