Color Your World Red

Last week the Times in the UK picked up on a growing trend in travel websites: bragging. They reported on the passportstamp.com website where avid travelers can sign in to create their own personalized map of the world where the countries they've traveled to show up in red.

Sounds simple but, we already know these kinds of sites can be addictive--and expensive, when you decide you've gotta visit more countries so your map looks better. And that's as good a reason as any, isn't it? The site has all kinds of stats and graphs to show you, like which countries are the most popular for travelers (US, Canada, Australia and much of Europe) and which user has visited the most countries.

Speaking of which, an obnoxious-sounding member called Galenfry claims to have visited 196 nations. Perhaps we're just jealous. But it is one of those websites that tracks "friends," and Galenfry's record comes out at zero friends. We can understand why.

How cool!

What a cool website! Unfortunately there's way to much grey on my map, but there's only one way to remedy that - travel more!
