Hangin' Around on the Tube

Hours and hours on public transport getting you down? Designer Eelko Moorer has come up with a product to help you relieve boredom while traveling on the London tube: bat-style boots.

Eelko's boots are built to latch onto the hand strap rails in underground trains, so you can travel along hanging upside-down. Eelko's girlfriend tested the boots, to mixed reactions from passengers. The idea behind them is to "give a person a sense of relief and to cheer up lives" but a London Underground official had quite another take on the boots:

This is a dangerous and stupid act that could result in serious injury to not only the individual concerned but also other passengers.

Yeah, fair point, but we still like the idea.
