Berlin Bear Star Gets His Own Song

While photographers in Britain might be obsessed with stuffed polar bears, all the rage in Germany is the (living) polar bear cub named Knut, who was rejected by his mother soon after birth. Zoo workers started to rear the bear by hand, prompting calls that this action was against the instincts of nature and would only cause trouble.
And trouble it has definitely caused, along with limitless marketing potential. Soft toys are selling like hotcakes and gummy-bears are on the way (in raspberry flavor for some reason). And now a CD's come out with the single "Knut is Cute": it seems to be the top seller amongst another 12 musos who reckon they can make a tidy profit with any vaguely bear-related song right now. Germans are good at this--you might remember the online game that came out when Bruno the Bear was on the loose in Germany last year. Seems there are bear-y many reasons to head to Germany.
