Staying Warm May Be an Olympian Task

Hooray, Spring! We can finally can the skiing posts, and get down with some outdoor stuff that doesn't revolve around freezing your fingers off. Well, sort of. It's still a bit frigid out on the Ocoee River in Tennessee.

That would be the one-time home of the 1996 Olympic kayaking events and current Mecca of all sorts of water sports. Sure you could glide down the river in a big, rigid raft, staying relatively dry and comfortable. But what fun is that? The outdoor nuts at Ace Kayak will toss you into waters that will have you asking "Is this safe?"

Of course it is... though saying that probably makes getting replacement customers much easier. (We're kidding!) For those of you not up for the challenge of honing your river running and freestyle kayaking skills, Ace offers "funyaking"--an unfortunately-named solo paddling endeavor on board an easy-to-steer inflatable boat. Early season kayaking? Make sure you wear your thickest wet suit!

The Ocoee is Awesome!

I used to work on the ocoee as a raftguide.  Its the best river in the south east.  Jeff, the owner of ace funyacks, is a super awesome guy.  If you go, tell him Danny from iPaddle said hey!
