No Kangaroos and No Movies Either

We used to think traveling Qantas was quite a pleasure. But on some of the Aussie airline's B747-400s, apparently it's become a bit of a nightmare. There's a kind of game of "bad seat Lotto" playing out: if you're a loser, you get a seat with a non-functioning inflight entertainment system.

Yeah, yeah, you might say, so read a book. But remember that a Qantas international flight could easily be 12 or 14 hours long. That's when movies and mind-numbing computer games are really needed to fill the time.

Apart from the obvious complaints from passengers, Qantas staff are also extremely uptight after passengers have become aggressive when they've got nothing to keep them occupied. And sometimes the system goes down for the entire plane, leaving a tin can full of grumpy, bored travelers hurtling through the air. What happened to the days where everyone could turn to a neighbor and play tic-tac-toe?

oh no

i better bring lots of travel board games for my flight. either that or invest in a portable dvd player!

good idea

on my last flight to Oz my hubby got the unlucky seat. We played musical chairs the whole flight - I watched a movie, then he did, then ... Or you can just take really heavy sleeping tablets :-)
