2007 Awards: Best Domestic Airline

December 28, 2007 at 11:00 AM | 0 Comments

You'd either have to be visionary or nuts to launch a domestic airline with high-tech amenities, classy service, new planes and a frequent flier program based on money spent rather than miles flown--and then not charge a truckload for tickets. But since it's Virgin America, we'll call it visionary.

True, the airline is still hitting a few bumps, and the limited route network leaves something to be desired. But new cities are cropping up all the time, and you gotta hand it to any airline whose director of in-flight entertainment hangs out with Alicia Keys, Paula Abdul and Carmen Electra.

If Virgin America can keep the magic alive with its new CEO, we may just see them back at the awards show next year.
