Skybus Hyping Small-Town Ohio

December 17, 2007 at 11:00 AM | by | Comments (0)

We've seen Skybus advertise everything from insurance to credit cards. But the latest deal for the super-low cost carrier has flight attendants praising a small Ohio town. Upon landing in Columbus, passengers hear an announcement with baggage claim info, the local time--and a pitch on what makes Canal Winchester so great.

The village of 5,500 is 16 miles southeast of downtown Columbus, and town officials paid less than the usual $4,000-per-month advertising fee to let passengers know that Canal Winchester's:

the premier tourist destination in southeastern, central Ohio.

Among the must-see attractions in town? The Mid-Ohio Doll and Toy Museum, the Barber's Museum and Hall of Fame, the Slate Run Vineyard and Winery, covered bridges and the best antiques shops that southeastern, central Ohio has to offer.
