"Gossip Girl" Wintry Mix

There was no new episode of "Gossip Girl" this week, but judging by this photo taken in the GAP Tidings Truck, the dress-up platform we've spotted in Chelsea, the cast is spending its off time getting closer than the high school kids they play on TV. Blake, Ed, Penn and Leighton may fight on screen, but they're just tickled to chill on a prop couch.

Curiously missing from the above picture is Chace Crawford, who has been spotted with Leighton (Blair Waldorf) all over town in amorous spots like the Beatrice Inn. Leighton claims they're just good friends, and she did attended a Los Angeles charity event, the Teddy Bear Ball, with Chace and Blake. (Besides, we hear Chace was cozying up to Rumer Willis at the GQ Men of the Year party.) Maybe what those nosy viewers saw out on the town was an episode being filmed!

If you have a "Gossip Girl" fan in your life, think about picking her out some clothes as seen on the show from the CW's Website. Once you've dropped from shopping, refuel with the Serena sandwich at the Palace Hotel--yep, the same thing Chuck used to try and seduce Ms. van der Woodson in the pilot. And as for that New York Observer story faulting "Gossip Girl" for enticing non-New Yorkers to move here... Come on! It's not like we all picked up and moved to "The O.C." in 2003--or "Dallas" in 1978.
