AdamAir Flies Again

You might remember Indonesian low cost carrier AdamAir as that one that bends planes and even loses them. Earlier in the year, AdamAir was under threat of closure from the Indonesian government unless it improved its safety record.

In the second half of 2007, four Indonesian airlines were shut down and five grounded over safety problems, but AdamAir wasn't one of them. In fact, the government upgraded its ranking to the next level of safety. So we're hoping the days of crashes and near-misses are over.

If you want to book a cheap flight with AdamAir around Indonesia (and to Singapore too), the airline's website offers plenty of cheap deals. We were quite enthused by the AdamAir Live Help button, and we clicked and entered our nickname, ready to talk to an AdamAir rep. After a couple of minutes, unfortunately, we got taken to a virtual answering machine: a pop-up box telling us everyone was busy, where we could leave a message and wait for an email back. Not a big deal, as long as the pilots are really there when we need them.
