Virgin America Debuts Super Trendy Radio Channel

As if we needed any more news to convince us that Chuck Ogilvie is the face of Airline 2.0, he and the rest of Virgin America have just inked a deal with RCRD LBL to provide bleeding edge music, exclusively programmed for the airline. Not to be overlooked is the fact that RCRD LBL's CEO is the one-and-only Peter Rojas, editor-at-large of the tech blog Engadet.
While we're excited that Virgin's (sometimes sketchy) in-flight entertainment is getting a boost, it might be a bit strange to hear RCRD LBL tracks on a proprietary system. After all, the point of the new label is to offer free streamable and sharable tracks to anyone who wants 'em. If they're locked up inside Virgin's planes, does that kill half the buzz?
Then again, maybe this'll be motivation to get that in-flight WiFi up-and-running soon.
