Surfing in Hawaii :: Leave It To The Kids

October 19, 2007 at 10:00 AM | by | Comments (0)

We know Hawaii is a family friendly place, but sometimes mom and dad need a break, too. The solution? Pack up the kids and take them to Surf Camp Hawaii. This may be the only place on the big island to cater to the 10 to 16 year-old crowd. That's part of the reason we love it.

Kids get busy grubbing before heading out to the big (or little) waves. And instructors know how to get through to the children and teens. They'll spend the day, from 9 am to 2:30, doing stretches, land surfing and getting into the water, too. Campers learn the fundamentals of surfing, water safety and get up close with Mother Nature. It's the perfect learn-to-surf opportunity, and one that lets parents off the hook for a while, too.
