Movie Set Travel: Michael Clayton

We'll admit it, we had no idea what an "in-house fixer" was before reading up on this week's pick, Michael Clayton. Apparently, it's a crafty lawyer who clears up complex cases on behalf of big wig corporate clients who can't afford to lose.
In this case, it's George Clooney (prior to his motorcycle accident days) as Michael Clayton. He's working away on a case when it's sabotaged by an associate, leading Clayton to face "the biggest challenge of his career and his life." Sydney Pollack makes it to the screen as Clooney's boss and we hear it gets intense enough to make George's temples a bit grayer--in a more attractive way of course.
This one was shot almost solely on the streets of New York, where we're sure we pass "fixers" on the street most every day. We offer you some cool things to check out in Gotham this weekend:
Where To Check-In: Hotel Thirty Thirty -- Head to 30 East 30th Street (yes, easy to remember) and check-in at this cute, Euro-style stay. Room sizes go from "cozy" to "spacious", but they're all well appointed and offer trendy furnishings and some city views. Over the holidays (Thanksgiving & Xmas) stay two nights, and the third is yours free.
Where To Chew: Savoy Restaurant -- Slip off busy Broadway and into this Prince Street favorite. It's small, but the wide, often-open windows are perfect for people-watching and the bar always proves upbeat. Dig into melon and crispy pork salad or salt crust baked duck if you're looking for something savory.
Where To Chill: New Greek and Roman Galleries at The Met -- Just revamped and opened in April, these stunning new sculpture galleries cover over 30,000 square feet and present Hellenistic art and its legacy. Wind your way through and be sure to set aside ample time for resting on the sun-drenched benches.
