Television Travel: Lie, Cheat and Steal With "Gossip Girl"

Visit our Gossip Girl Map to walk in the shoes of Blair, Nate, Serena and the gang.

Congratulations to the CW show "Gossip Girl," which became the first new pilot of the fall to get a full-season pick-up. While it's never won its time slot, CW president of entertainment Dawn Ostroff calls its Richie-Rich NY a "heightened-reality world" and says "People everywhere are talking about 'Gossip Girl.'" Well, we sure are, and we're proud, because it looks like we know how to pick 'em.

This week's episode began with an obvious call-out to "Breakfast at Tiffany's" with Blair's Serena-related nightmare (complete with "Moon River" on the soundtrack). Chuck throws a "Lost Weekend" party and pub crawl (including an Irish pub called Paddy O'Paddy) where Nate finds out who he can really trust in a high-stakes poker game. After a canceled date with Serena, Dan seeks dating advice from his dad (who has lady problems of his own). Blair's own friendship with The Blonde One is shattered when her mom picks Serena to model her new collection, but all is mended after an impromptu photo shoot on Central Park South.

Prep of the Ep: We've loved the seemingly amoral Chuck (Ed Westwick) ever since he tried to talk his way into Serena's arms in the pilot. This week, he sacrificed his Piaget watch and proved he might have a soul, which makes him even hotter.
