Zagat's New Guide to New Orleans

It's now been 16 months since Hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf Coast, and despite some sluggish rebuilding, the restaurant scene is back. Or so say the food mavens at the Zagat Survey, who've just released an updated guide to post-storm New Orleans.
Some interesting things show up in the report, which looked at nearly 400 restaurants, hotels and bars. New Orleans topped Paris and San Francisco in the overall rankings, coming in as the 8th best city for foodies out of the 27 that Zagat rates. But despite the quality, it's the second cheapest place to dine on that same list.
There are at least three places you'll want to check out if you're in town. Restaurant August came in at number one for both food and service. Loa, at the chichi boutique hotel International House, has the best décor in town. And one of the city's best new restaurants, Cochon, is the place for a pork-filled pig out.
