Getting Shanghaied to Hong Kong
Good Fare: London-hong Kong, $300 RT on Oasis Hong Kong
The world of low-cost carriers just got a whole lot bigger. Oasis Hong Kong has announced the launch of their service between London Gatwick and Hong Kong. One-way fares start at $150 between the two cities for economy; business class seats are less than $900 each way.
This is pretty exciting; it could spell the beginning of transatlantic LCCs sometime in the near future, for one thing. For another, it seems like amenities are not bad on Oasis: seats have 32 inches of pitch and come with 14 video channels on a personal TV set. We're not sure if we'd fly for ten hours with Ryanair, but this we could handle.
