A Vegas Weekend Without Craps

A dirty (or wholesome, but we know which one we prefer) weekend in Las Vegas can be a ton of fun, between comped rooms and the Hooters casino installing a stripper pole in your own suite. But getting there, especially from the East Coast, can be an expensive ordeal, as ticket prices and packages wildly fluctuate in cost from day to day.

Still, those crafty travelers at the Post have come to the rescue with a whole set of strategies for getting to Vegas and saving money while you're there. Like, think there's an off-season? Think again:

Really, there isn't one. There's only mid-week and weekend, convention and no convention. Prices fluctuate wildly from day to day. If you're looking to beat the odds, there are two strategies to take. One is to steer clear of hotels favored by Californians (basically, anything that's ever been on TV); they inexplicably flee the beaches each weekend for the desert.
Forget Las Vegas; we think avoiding Californians is a good travel philosophy in general.

Newark

Might we Californians suggest that seeing a budget charter DC-10 full of you New Yorkers flying in from Newark to McCarran doesn't exactly make our day either.
