Movie Set Travel: Zoom
We admit it, this week's a little light on decent movie releases. But if you've got a niece or nephew and want to see Sony's latest kiddie flick, head to theatres for Zoom today.
Chevy Chase and Courtney Cox make appearances, while Tim Allen plays a former superhero called Jack who is coaxed back from retirement to turn a bunch of kids into superheroes at a private academy. Not unlike many private schools in Manhattan today.
Zoom was filmed in (surprise!) Toronto, where everyone's heading to save money these days. Instead of location-specific options this week, we offer you some superhero ones instead:
Where To Have an Adventure:
Spiderman 3D Ride, Orlando
Head to Universal Studios and hop on the new Spiderman 3D ride. Covering 1.5 acres, you'll wear ridiculous 3D glasses and freefall over 400 feet while they try to overstimulate all your "Spidey Senses," be prepared to cough up $63 to get into the park though.
Where To Train Superhero-style:
Space Center, Houston
Head to one of the country's renown science and space centers and hit up the new "Superhero School" exhibit where tricks of physics will allow you to climb a wall, "improve" your night vision, and experience flight. The best part? It's all free with normal $20 admission.
Where To Find Superhero Food:
Super Hero Food
This "online museum" lists applicable superhero foods indexed by character, type and country of origin. Though not for sale, the owner (no doubt, a 12-year old somewhere) is "willing to trade" some of his multiples. Who knew that the Justice League made hot cocoa or that Captain America had his own bottled water?
